Alumni Spotlights

Ethan Russo, Philosophy PhD Candidate at NYU

“I really liked being in LAC, General Assembly meetings were often a lot of fun! I remember our new member class retreat was a really great time.”

Priyanka,

“As someone who hasn’t lived in Texas for a while, having UT is having roots. Even after you graduate and haven’t been on campus for years, being a Longhorn is an instant connection to a community of people who really look out for each other– it’s an instant connection to home, which I really appreciate as someone currently far away from home. Texas people love Texas people. UT people love UT people.”

MADISON MANOUSHAGIAN, Family Law Attorney at Slav Law

“I think back when I hear "LAC" to Tuesday night meetings, and just having a good time with other people. I think back to broomball and the long nights studying at Mozart's with friends or the one time when I was the membership director, our president turned 21 and I went straight from his 21st birthday party to pulling an all-nighter in the LAC office. But just with all of the wonderful memories of people and this feeling like no matter how far apart or how long it's been since I've talked to those people, I could text them right now and it would feel like nothing has changed.”

GABI VELASCO

“I joined LAC spring of my freshman year and met all of my best friends in college through LAC… I think just kind of getting to senior year with that group of people and then having the little moments of time spent together in the office doing late night studying and just hanging out, taking classes and then during our banquet that year, just kind of having that moment of “we have had just like the weirdest collection of memories together”. [LAC] felt at the time kind of like a random student org to join. I was… a freshman wanting to join something. I honestly applied kind of on a whim to LAC. I just had no idea that I would meet my best friends…. I think the little moments of just feeling like at home on campus was a great feeling.”
